Union Station Kansas City
Marble Floor Restoration
How we restored 22,000 square feet of historic marble flooring at Kansas City's most iconic landmark.
The Challenge
Union Station's Grand Hall features original marble flooring installed when the station opened in 1914. After more than a century of foot traffic from millions of visitors, the floors had lost their luster and developed visible wear patterns.
The challenge was to restore the marble to its original glory while maintaining the historic integrity of the space and minimizing disruption to the station's daily operations and special events.
Our Solution
Advanced 360 developed a comprehensive restoration plan that included diamond grinding to remove surface damage, honing to achieve a uniform finish, and final polishing to bring back the marble's natural beauty.
We worked in sections during off-hours to ensure the station could continue operating normally. Our team completed the entire 22,000 square foot restoration in just three weeks.
The Results
The restored floors now showcase the original beauty of the marble, complete with the iconic Kansas City Chiefs Kingdom design. The project was featured on KMBC TV and has become a point of pride for the Kansas City community.
